Wii to feature built-in web browser
In a recent interview with Scott Hedrick, an executive at web browser firm Opera, it was revealed that the Wii will feature a version of the Opera web browser out of the box.
How the Wii controller will be used to operate the browser is currently unclear, but Opera claim that the experience will prove to be "as easy if not easier than using Opera on a desktop".
Wii to cost less than $230 (£120)
According to Bloomberg, Nintendo executive Yoshihiro Mori recently stated that "the player won't cost more than 25,000 yen" in Japan. This is approximately 230 $USD or £120 GBP. Of course, while this is
probably a good indication of the price in the US, the UK price is
unlikely to come in quite so low. Still, that's a lot cheaper than a PS3...
Nintendo also indicated that they expect to shift 6 million consoles and 17 million games by next March.
Wii Launch Games?
Rumours abound that a total of 16 Wii games will be available on around the launch date. Here's the list:
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
- Wii Sports
- Red Steel
- Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
- Madden NFL 2007
- Dragon Quest Swords
- Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
- Metal Slug Anthology
- Trauma Center: Second Opinion
- Elebits
- Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
- Blitz: The League
- Rayman Raving Rabbids

What's interesting about the above list is the apparent absence of Super Mario Galaxy...
